Observation Sites

Field stations are named Observation Sites. Observation Sites are grouped in Observation Networks.

Observation Networks.

Areas under study. An Observation Network contains Observation Sites which measures Variables of different Observation Site Types. It is the foundational concept in data storage.

Variables

Variables are catalogued and categorized according to types. The variable categories are named Observation Site Type.

Users

Users are classified into Roles.

Observation Site Types

Categories for measurements types. Water Quality, Groundwater, Runoff, Surface Water, Hydroatmospheric, etcetera.

Role: Observation Network Owner

Main role in the Observation Network, creates, updates and deletes data. Obs. Network Owner executes scripts, adds scripts, creates pipeline processing, adds new Observation Networks and corresponding Observation Sites.

Role: Publisher

Executes scripts and adds scripts.

Role: Final User

Has access to all functionality except those granted to Obs. Network Owner and Publisher.
